At IWK, sustainability is not an addition, but part of our self-image. As an international manufacturer of packaging systems, we bear responsibility – for our customers, our employees and the environment. We understand sustainability holistically: ecologically, economically and socially.
OUR GOAL
Making packaging processes more resource-efficient with every project – through intelligent designs, durable machines and energy-efficient technologies.
At IWK, sustainability is an integral part of how we do business. We focus on three key areas:
IWK is part of ATS Corporation, which applies consistent Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards across its global operations. In 2024, IWK was awarded the EcoVadis Bronze Medal for the first time, recognizing our commitment to environmental stewardship, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.
The requirements for companies assessed by EcoVadis continue to become more rigorous. Today, IWK ranks among the top 35% of all companies evaluated by EcoVadis.
Our focus areas:
-21% electricity consumption through regenerative energy recovery in the latest generation of IWK cartoners
-15% material usage in machine components through design optimization
92% of all production waste is recycled
22% reduction in Scope 2 emissions (2021–2024)
Annual ESG training
Every new machine is tested for energy efficiency, material consumption and life cycle costs – sustainability is a central design criterion.
