Across our various departments you can find many challenging and engaging topics for your Bachelors or Masters thesis. You will start with the basic essentials, getting to know the technology. You will have the opportunity to participate in development projects and conduct research so you can successfully build your thesis or project around technically sound and ambitious content.

Internships

By means of our voluntary and mandatory internship programs with universities and colleges, we invite all kinds of students to gain an insight into our exciting technology. Interns will learn basic information as well as specialist technical content.

Temporary work while studying

In some departments it is possible to undertake part-time work on a full-day basis during holidays between semesters, or on an hourly basis during the semester, with a view to taking on responsibilities which expand your practical experience in a manner that complements the theoretical content on your course. Alternatively, you could simply work on a ‘non-specialist’ basis to earn some extra money.

Overview of dual studies courses

Our dual students complete 12-week phases alternating between theory and practice, split between the Karlsruhe Cooperative State University and the relevant departments in the company.

In-company apprenticeships

• Electrical engineer for automation technology
• Mechatronics engineer
• Industrial mechanic

All professional training apprenticeships last 3 1/2 years, conducted with us in the company and at the vocational school.
When you train at IWK there is a high likelihood of becoming a permanent employee.  In addition, it offers fantastic professional prospects and enables a period of working abroad at one of our subsidiaries very early in your time with us. The experience you gain from such an opportunity, in combination with what you have learned, forms an ideal foundation for your professional life.
We additionally offer student internships within the framework of BOGY and BORS internships, as well as open-house and informational events.
